Lawrence Williams

Lawrence Williams is a graduating MPhil student from the Department of Telecommunication Engineering at KNUST. His research interests are wireless communication, radio frequency,  machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

He developed improved path loss models for his MPhil work. He researched how the KNUST Campus can be characterised as a 5G-ready environment. His work highlights the need for environment-specific models to characterise a propagation environment and also showcases an error of 6.34 dB when compared against existing path loss models.

The KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) has been vital to his academic success in providing financial support. He is very grateful for the support and encouragement received from his supervisors, Dr. Kingsford Sarkodie Obeng Kwakye, Dr. Kwame Opuni-Boachie Obour Agyekum, and Professor Jerry John Kponyo, and the management of KEEP.

He plans to work further beyond 5G/6G, ISAC, and AI.
