Prof. Kwadwo Mensah – Darkwa is a Senior Lecturer at the Materials Engineering Department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (2012) from North Carolina A&T State University (NSF, Engineering Research Centre for Revolutionizing Metallic Biomaterials).
He joined the Mechanical Engineering Department of North Carolina A&T State University as an Adjunct Assistant Professor (2013). His research focuses on degradable biomaterials, nanomaterials, photovoltaic devices, Materials for Energy Development, and Nanomagnetism.
He gained a Commonwealth Academic Fellowship to research with the Energy Technology Research Group, Faculty of Engineering and the Physical Sciences, University of Southampton, UK, as a visiting Academic Fellow. His ambition as a researcher is to inspire his students to create models and research methodologies for solving engineering problems employing a variety of scientific techniques. He has authored or co-authored a number of academic papers in international refereed journals.
