Angolan Ambassador To Ghana Calls On Management

The Angolan Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Augusto da Silva Cunha, has called on the management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Ambassador Da Silva Cunha who was received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, said he has been working to strengthen the existing relationship between Ghana and Angola as well as the universities in Ghana.

He said together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, his outfit hopes to organise a bilateral event on Angolan education to enable both countries explore educational opportunities for development. 

Ambassador Da Silva Cuncha added that his outfit is also working to get the Angolan government to sponsor Angolan nationals to study in Ghana. He used the occasion to express his gratitude to the University for granting him audience and to the government and people of Ghana for their continuous hospitality and support to his people.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, on his part stated that KNUST has over the years has trained students from Angola and collaborated with institutions from Angola.

Professor Obiri-Danso noted that, the University through the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship has admitted an Angolan. He hoped the Embassy and the University would work together to come up with a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate student and Faculty exchange, especially in Engineering.
