Edwin Adjetey Adjei is a graduating MPhil student from the Chemical Engineering Department at KNUST.
His research interests include biofuels, renewable and clean energy, process simulation, optimisation, and feasibility studies.
He pursued producing and optimising the biolubricants from neem oils, their kinetic and thermodynamic analysis, and their techno-economic assessment. The neem biolubricant was also subjected to characterisation and performance testing.
The biolubricant showed impressive lubricating ability in addition to how economically feasible the production process is, thereby proving the potential of neem oil as a biolubricant precursor and showing the impact of using non-edible oils on the economy and environment.
He expresses his sincere and wholesome gratitude and appreciation to the KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) for immensely supporting his work. He also acknowledges the involvement and concern of the staff and management in every aspect of his well-being and state.
Edwin's future aspirations are focused on expanding his knowledge of renewable energy alternatives. He is particularly interested in exploring the use of artificial intelligence in the stochastic programming approach for the supply chain network involved in producing biofuels, as well as real-time simulation and performance inhibitors of biofuels.
