Congratulations Elizabeth Henewaa Akoto

Elizabeth Henewaa Akoto is an MPhil student from the Materials Engineering Department at KNUST. 

Her research interests are Environmental Sustainability, especially in Waste Management and Waste Water Treatment. She is also passionate about the inclusion of women in STEM fields. 

For her MPhil thesis, she investigated the effectiveness of Moringa Oleifera in Polyethylene Terephthalate Membranes for the adsorption of Copper in Aqueous Media. This she achieved through the use of plastic and agricultural waste. 

She appreciates KEEP for enhancing her knowledge through the periodic seminars and the financial support during her entire study. 

She plans to pursue a PhD in Materials Engineering, focusing on developing Functional Materials from waste resources to solve environmental problems. She believes that for the world to improve, we must make good use of the waste around us.
