Philip Owusu Kwesi

Philip Owusu Kwesi is a graduating student of the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program in the Department of Telecommunication at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His research, supervised by Dr. Kingsford Sarkodie Obeng Kwakye, focuses on wireless networking, optimisation techniques, network security, and sustainable IoT solutions.

His MPhil thesis, titled “Automating PSO Hyperparameter Tuning for Extended Wireless Sensor Network Lifetime: Grid Search Approach,” investigates improving energy efficiency and performance in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). By integrating Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO), grid search methodologies, and residual energy measurements, Philip aimed to develop a robust and efficient system for detecting water leaks in water supply networks. This research significantly contributes to smart infrastructure management and resource conservation.

Philip acknowledges the KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) for funding his education and research. He extends heartfelt appreciation to his thesis supervisor, Dr. Kingsford Sarkodie Obeng Kwakye. He expresses gratitude for the support and encouragement provided by the faculty and staff of the Department of Telecommunication.

In the future, Philip aspires to continue leveraging wireless systems and IoT technologies to address practical challenges. He remains dedicated to using innovative technological solutions to impact infrastructure monitoring and sustainability positively.
