Shadrack T. Asiedu is a graduating MPhil student from the Mechanical Engineering Department at KNUST.
His research interests are renewable energy integration, application of machine learning in power systems, and power systems optimisation.
For his MPhil project, he built and compared the performance of classical and hybrid machine learning models to predict solar PV production over different time horizons accurately. His work further analysed a grid-connected solar PV system's optimal ambient and module temperature.
KEEP sponsorship provided him with the financial backbone to focus on his studies. The opportunity provided by KEEP also formed the springboard for his Exchange Program at the Technical University of Munich. He is very grateful for the support received from the staff and management of KEEP.
He plans to pursue a PhD to further research into grid integration of renewables and power systems optimisation.
