Dr. Victor Atiemo-Obeng, a Chemical Engineering with the DOW Chemical Company, USA visited KNUST from 20-21st November 2019.
Upon his arrival, he paid a courtesy call on the Provost of the College of Engineering, Prof. Mark Adom-Asamoah. He visited the laboratories at the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and Mechanical Engineering together with Prof. Kwabena Biritwum Nyarko (Project Lead, KEEP) and the respective Heads of Departments. During the visits to the laboratories he interacted with the lab technicians and students and made some very keen observations which would be looked into by KEEP. He was also very delighted about the innovations taking place in the respective departments.
The following day he met with the KEEP management team led by Dr. Jerry John Kponyo (Deputy Project Lead, KEEP) together with some Heads of Departments to discuss very important issues such as the GAP Assessment and how to strengthen the academic-industry linkage. He later on in the day attended the Launch of the Tullow Oil Scholarship Scheme after which he held discussions with Dr. Francis Kemausuor (Director, Energy Centre) and Prof. Samuel Kwofie (Immediate Past Dean, Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering)
