KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) Hits 100%

The KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) at the College of Engineering has achieved 100% in its Disbursement Linked Results (DLRs), a major milestone reflecting the project’s commitment to excellence and impact.

KEEP maxed out all Disbursement Linked Indicators(DLIs) :

  • PhD and Master’s Enrollments – Enrolled 238 PhDs and 692 MScs, far surpassing the target of 75 PhDs and 100 MScs
  • Programme Accreditation – Postgraduate programmes accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) in Ghana and the Agency for Quality Assurance in Germany
  • Teaching and Research Environment – Construction of a postgraduate building with state-of-the-art equipment and research labs to enhance the quality of research
  • Internships – 210 postgraduate students undertook internships in industry to help strengthen the academia-industry linkage.
  • Revenue Generation – Project raised over $20m from funding agencies both inside and outside Ghana
  • Timely Fiduciary Reporting – Submitted all External Audits, Procurement Audits on time to funders.
  • Functioning Audit Committee and Unit – Constituted an Audit Committee to review all transactions made by the project.
  • Web Transparency – A Functional website (keep.knust.edu.gh) created to bring stakeholders up to speed with the status of the project

Since its launch in 2019, KEEP has focused on delivering world-class postgraduate engineering education, conducting problem-solving research, and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Funded by the Government of Ghana through the World Bank’s Africa Centres of Excellence for Development Impact (ACE Impact) Project, KEEP continues to position KNUST as a leader in engineering innovation and development in Ghana and the West African subregion.
