The KNUST College of Engineering (CoE) met with alumni in Worcester, North America, on 21st October 2023 to engage and seek their support for the vision of the College.
In his presentation, Prof. Jerry John Kponyo, Project Lead, KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP), updated alumni on the increased number of students, the existence of research centres and the African Centers of Excellence (ACE) Impact Project in the College, internationally accredited courses, the expansion of the CoE Innovation Center and the strong relationship between the College and Industry.
In his address, Prof. Johnson Asumadu, Chairman of the KEEP International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB), noted that alumni are an integral part of the University and should support activities of the University. He said the quality of KNUST students is due to the education provided, and KNUST students always prove themselves wherever they go.
He emphasised the need for patenting innovations and said patent not only put the College on the map but also gives KNUST global recognition.
He also mentioned that KEEP has remained the highest-performing African Centre of Excellence (ACE) among the 53 other ACEs since its inception. He applauded the team for their hard work and commitment to this success.
The team will have a similar meeting with alumni in Virginia on 26th October 2023 and extend an invitation to all alumni in Virginia to be a part of it.
