Congratulations Peter Asigri

Peter Asigri is a graduating PhD student from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at KNUST.

His research interests are applications of multi-objective optimisation in power systems, power markets and renewable energy technologies.

He developed an analytical tool for enhanced decision-making in the power sector using a modified multi-objective grey wolf optimiser (MOGWO) for his PhD. This involved incorporating adaptive diversity tuning and Lévy flight theories into MOGWO to enhance its exploration-exploitation capabilities. The modified optimiser optimised four conflicting objective functions: cost minimisation, loss reduction, emission minimisation and profit maximisation.

The KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) has been instrumental in his academic success by providing financial support. He is very grateful for the support and encouragement received from the staff and management of KEEP.

He plans to continue his research in profit-based unit commitment, stochastic modelling of renewable energy and application of power electronics in renewable energy.
