Mark Ampomah Otu is a graduating MPhil. Power Systems Engineering student from the Electrical/Electronic Department. His research interests are Power System Optimisation, Renewable Energy, Smart Grids, EVs and High Voltage.
He optimally placed EV charging stations on the IEEE 33 and KNUST 28 bus systems using an improved PSO called Adaptive Dual Swarm PSO with Levy Mutation (ADSPSO-LM).
His work showed a better performance than other PSO variants and reduced active power losses significantly on the bus systems.
The KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) has been instrumental in his academic success by providing financial support and encouragement received from the staff and management of KEEP.
He also appreciates his supervisors, Dr. F.B. Effah and Dr E. Twumasi, for their guidance throughout his thesis.
He plans to carry out further work in renewable energy to help contribute to a carbon-free emissions energy world.
