Vitah Owusu Ansah

Vitah Owusu Ansah is a graduating MPhil student in Mechanical Engineering (Design and Manufacturing) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His research interests encompass mechanical design, additive manufacturing, and the development of assistive technology.

For his MPhil work, he designed, fabricated, and tested a hand exoskeleton device to aid stroke patients in hand rehabilitation and improve mobility for individuals with motor impairments. The project demonstrated great potential in enhancing finger motion and grip strength through the development of locally designed, cost-effective technology.

The KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) has been instrumental in his academic success by providing financial support. He is deeply grateful for the support and guidance of his supervisor, Dr F. K. A. Nyarko, as well as the encouragement he received from the staff and management of KEEP.

He plans to further his work in mechanical design optimisation, additive manufacturing, and rehabilitation device development.
