Mr. Makafui John Bedzra

Makafui has +24 years cumulative experience in start-ups development, enterprise risk and management information systems consulting. He is currently the Innovation Manager at the College of Engineering Innovation Centre (KNUST), under the World Bank ACE Engineering Education Project. He also serves as the Innovation Support Officer on the AI for Sustainable Development (AI4SD) project at KNUST. He was a  Programme Manager for the World Bank/GOG/KNUST Kumasi Innovation Hub and Business Incubator. Makafui serves as a mentor to secondary school students under the KNUST Responsible Artificial Intelligence Project. He promotes gender-sensitive digital skills development and sustainable start-ups for decent job creation deploying smart solutions for the agricultural, textiles, plastics, and precision machinery value chains.

Makafui is a PhD candidate in development studies researching into the contributions of innovation hubs to the development of sustainable startups. He holds an Executive MBA in Strategic Management and Management Consulting and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, both from KNUST.
